The next best thing to reading a book is discussing it with friends! There are many opportunities to be a part of a book club at one of the LPLS branches or online.
Linebaugh Book Clubs
Did you know Linebaugh Library offers book discussion groups? No matter what type of book you like to read, we've got you covered! All book groups meet in the Library Board Room on the second floor unless otherwise noted. Click on the links to see each club's upcoming reads.
The Afternoon Book Club meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. The Afternoon Book Club reads a mixture of light and serious novels and nonfiction and enjoys outings several times a year.
The Tuesday Book Discussion Group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The Tuesday night group reads a mixture of literary fiction, non-fiction, and classics.
The Lit Wits Book Club meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The Lit Wits Book Club is a small, informal group which holds lively discussions with nonjudgmental, warm, welcoming book lovers.
The Cozy Mystery Book Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. The Cozy/Traditional Mystery group is so eclectic we talk about not only the style and substance of our choices but the ancillary knowledge we gain. Bring your current cozy to share in our discussion.

Smyrna Book Clubs
The Saturday Book Club meets the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. We read all kinds of books from fiction, non-fiction, romance, mystery, and more. Join us for a friendly group discussion!
The Chapter Society meets on the Saturday of the last full week of each month at 10:00 AM. Members choose whichever book they wish to read as long as it fits the monthly theme. Adults of all ages are welcome to join us for discussion and refreshments.

The Murfreesboro Writers Group is a group of local writers who seek to improve their work through mutual critique. Beginning, January 2015, they will be meeting every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor Board Room at Linebaugh Library.
