What is the Teen Advisory Board?

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of Rutherford County teens who give input to the library about programs and services for teens and volunteer in the Youth Services Department. TAB is the voice for teens in the library. Our mission is to proactively seek out new ideas and projects to improve how Linebaugh Library System serves the teen community.

TAB consists of 4 to 12 active members who are instrumental in making decisions, planning activities, assisting with fundraising and promotion, and working as volunteers. Want to be considered for a spot on the Board? Please fill out the TAB application.

Please note that you do not have to be a Board member to participate in Teen Tuesday or other TAB-sponsored activities or to volunteer. If you are interested in learning more about TAB or want to receive updates about upcoming teen activities at the library, please fill out our teen contact form.

TAB Activities

Teen TuesdayTeens are invited to come to Linebaugh  Library on Tuesdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m., for a different activity each week. Programs this summer include workshops on drawing, writing, and making comic books, plus Wii gaming, a discussion of the book Hunger Games. We'll also hold TEENprov and Young Authors @ Linebaugh Library meetings. And we'll be making our own zine at the end of the summer! Check out our summer schedule to find out more. Be sure to sign up for our Summer Reading Program -- you can win prizes for reading books, attending programs, writing reviews, or meeting other goals. Join us for some free fun this summer!

Linebaugh and Smyrna Libraries will offer a series of gaming programs through Summer 2010. For more information, visit our Gaming page.
